That's what I don't understand about trolls, they feed off hate. do these guys sit at home reading the flame-posts and go "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!! OMG THIS GUY SAYS I SHOULD GO KILL MYSELF OLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL"?
I mean, come on, it's like walking up to someone and asking them to punch you because it's funny to you.

An online insult is not the same as being punched in real life, I mean if you take an insult online as serious as you'd take a punch to the gut then you are a pretty sad person with no life.
The thing about being insulted online is no one really knows who you are, you could be anyone, they can't see you. For all you know, I've trolled you on Newgrounds before, but you wouldn't know that if I had an alt to do it with. I haven't but I could do.
Trolling is getting a reaction, once you get a reaction from your target(s) then you've done what you set out to do. I've trolled people before, on my main and on my alts, but I've never gone as far as spamming someones PMs or Userpage, yes it gets you more noticed and attention but I don't find it as funny.
Hate PMs are really funny.
Hate reviews are amusing to read.
Hate userpage comments are awsome.
It's funny to see people react in such a way, that's why people do it. The more attention the troll gets, the more they do it. This includes making topics about them and making userpage news. |

| Whilst I see your point, I can't agree with you that trolling is funny in any way whatsoever. I usually just sigh and ban the troll from PMing me and leaving comments.
But yeah I see your point I just dont understand why anyone could find it funny, they should be deleted and IP banned in my opinion.

That's way to far, compared to the things people do and don't get banned for, trolling is nothing. For example crews that pump out garbage like the Lucky 7 Crew, Garbage Whistle Crew, Kitty Krew and so forth, they don't look like they put effort into flash and it just looks like they are troll the forum for negative reviews. Same thing as trolling the forum for hate responces, among other things.
Now there is a line between trolling and spamming, users who just spam user pages and PMs should be deleted, not IP banned but deleted yes. Because it's spam, it'd be like spamming the BBS and portal, they do get deleted. I'm not saying spamming is funny, it's unoriginal and stupid. Not to mention a waste of time.
But targeting one person or a group of people by saying things you know would provoke a reaction is funny, PMs no because no one else sees them. My view anyway, it's just funny to see people get so worked up about something said on the internet. Not sure if I have many hate PMs or if I have kept them, on my main anyway, got a lot on some of my alts.
All in all, I will say spamming isn't funny but as with spammers, give them attention and they will carry on spamming. |

| OK now that I just can't agree on. In my mind trolling IS spamming and there is no difference other than trolling isn't saying "come look at my page!", it's saying "fuck you".
The reason I say they should be IP banned is because they'll just come back with a different name and bug people again.
Example, if betty got deleted fom newgrounds (and god I hope he is), he'd come back as something like "BettY" or "betty2" and resume trolling. But if he was IP banned, problem solved, bye bye betty, a lot less people pissed.
Some may find it funny to piss people off for no reason other than to laugh at them funny, but I find it cruel. |
